The intervention involved the restoration of a historic sundial inside Villa Gaggia, a residence of great architectural and historical value in the Belluno area, also known for having hosted the famous meeting between Mussolini and Hitler in 1943.
The dial, characterized by a rare composition with zodiac symbols and figurative elements, presented the natural signs of time and required an extremely conservative approach. The challenge was to preserve its authenticity by intervening as little as possible, through delicate cleaning, the consolidation of the original colors and the subsequent protection of the surfaces.
This intervention represents one of the specializations that have always distinguished HISTORYA: the recovery and valorization of historical sundials, a sector that combines artistic skills, technical knowledge and design skills also gained in the creation of new sundials.
